Virtual Paintout

8" x 10" oil on linen
An artist named Bill Guffey has created a project called
The Virtual Paintout. Each month Bill posts on his blog a Google Map from somewhere
in the world . Artists then choose a street view from that map as an inspiration for a painting and Bill posts their finished work as part of a very cool gallery of different
media and styles, not to mention different choices of scenery.
This is a very quick study of a view in Tacorante on the Canary Islands, which have been the site of this month's challenge.

What a great idea! I'll tell Ann about this project--she has been doing a lot of landscape paintings from our stay in Tuscany last summer.

This is a gorgeous piece--I especially like the darkening clouds in the distance.
